UGI files for natural gas rate increases with the PUC

<p>Ninety-eight-year-old Ruth Glahn, a Meadows N&amp;RC resident, has been warming hearts and chilly knees with her crocheted wheelchair blankets for years. When she first picked up a crochet hook at the age of 10, she had no idea how her favorite pastime would help so many.</p><p>As a member of the Church Women United Lap Robe Ministry, Glahn has donated hundreds of her blankets to area nursing homes and the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center. Just in the last five years, she&#8217;s made over 500 blankets.</p><p>Ruth said it takes about two weeks to make a lap blanket, which she works on during visits with her friend, Meryl Davis, of Dallas, who then delivers the blankets to the nursing homes. Ruth made the beautiful red, white and green blanket, (in the photo) to be raffled off to a lucky winner, with the proceeds benefiting the Meadows Nursing &amp; Rehabilitation Center&#8217;s Auxiliary.</p><style>
