Luzerne County Council vacancy process criticized

<p>Commonwealth Health cardiologist Michael Rupp, M.D., has has been selected to serve on the Community Health Systems Drug Eluting Stent Supply Chain Physician Advisory Committee. This committee is the first of its kind for CHS and will serve as the foundation for future advisory committees.</p><p>The concept of the physician advisory committee was created with the goal of providing clinical subject matter expertise in respect to products and vendor selection processes. The physicians selected represent the three divisions within CHS and a significant percentage of drug eluting stent utilization. Their clinical expertise will provide the foundation for future decision-making.</p><p>Dr. Rupp is affiliated with the Commonwealth Health Physician Network, sees patients at 672 S. River St., Plains Township (in the Waterfront Complex in Plains Township) and is on the medical staff of Commonwealth Health Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He earned a medical degree and completed a fellowship at Allegheny University of the Health Sciences and completed a residency at Robert Packer Hospital. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease cardiovascular disease.</p><style>
