Nurses, Wilkes-Barre General Hospital reach tentative deal

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A man stabbed in the shoulder last week in a fight inside his Blackman Street apartment was attacked by a masked intruder who busted into his bedroom carrying a blunt object Monday, according to court records.</p><p>Quinten Rone, of 312 Blackman St., told city police a bald man wearing a mask assaulted him and his girlfriend, Linda Powell, at about 5 p.m.</p><p>Police arrested Decasta Johnson, 48, after Rone reportedly identified him.</p><p>According to a criminal complaint:</p><p>Rone claimed he and Powell were punched by a masked man who kicked in a bedroom door. As Rone fought back and got the better of the intruder, Rone claimed the masked man brandished a blunt object that he used to strike Rone and Powell.</p><p>Powell told police the blunt object was possibly a hammer.</p><p>She was transported to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. She displayed injuries to her head and neck, and her hair was matted down by dried blood.</p><p>Powell claimed the masked man threatened to return with a firearm to finish the job if they did not keep quiet.</p><p>A description of the intruder was provided to officers.</p><p>While searching the neighborhood, they spotted Johnson near Lloyds Lane.</p><p>Rone later identified him as the intruder.</p><p>Johnson showed signs of intoxication and his breath smelled of alcohol.</p><p>The suspect, of 873 S. Franklin St., was charged with two counts each of terroristic threats and simple assault, and one count each of burglary, criminal trespass and public drunkenness. He was arraigned by District Judge James Haggerty in Central Court and jailed for lack of $15,000 bail.</p><p>It&#8217;s been a wild last week for Rone, who suffered a stab wound to his right shoulder inside his apartment Jan. 23.</p><p>Travis Dwayne Clark Sr., 41, told police he attacked Rone because Rone was bullying people in the residence about garbage bags and assaulted his father, Howard Clark.</p><p>Clark, of 428 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, was charged with aggravated assault in the alleged stabbing.</p><style>
