Police: Man tried to sell baking soda as crack cocaine in Nanticoke

<p>EDWARDSVILLE &#8212; Released from jail after posting bail two weeks ago in an assault case, Javon James Isaac and another man were arrested on charges they were intoxicated in public late Monday.</p><p>Isaac later spit on an officer and urinated in a cell, landing him in more trouble, according to court records.</p><p>Police responded to Hillside Avenue just after 10 p.m. on a report that Isaac, 23, and Alexander Torres-Silva, 26, were allegedly attempting to enter vehicles.</p><p>Police say they caught up to Isaac and Torres-Silva in the area of Jones Lane and Hoblack Street, and an officer noticed they were highly intoxicated.</p><p>After Isaac and Torres-Silva were arrested for public drunkenness, Isaac allegedly spit saliva that struck an officer&#8217;s mouth. Meanwhile, three used syringes and a metal spoon were found in Torres-Silva&#8217;s pockets, authorities say.</p><p>Isaac was placed in a holding cell where police allege he urinated on the floor.</p><p>Torres-Silva was wanted on a probation violation in Philadelphia County, police report.</p><p>Court records say Isaac was released from the Luzerne County Correctional Facility on Jan. 14 when he posted $3,000 bail through a bondsman on charges he went on a drunken rage and assaulted a woman and her 10-year-old daughter inside a residence on West Grove Street in Edwardsville on Dec. 19.</p><p>Isaac and Torres-Silva were arraigned Tuesday by District Judge James Haggerty in Central Court.</p><p>Isaac, of West Grove Street, Edwardsville, was charged with two counts each of aggravated harassment by prisoner and institutional vandalism and a single count of drunkenness. He was released on $15,000 unsecured bail.</p><p>Torres-Silva, of Hanover Village, Hanover Township, was charged with drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $1,000 unsecured bail but is being held at the county lockup on the probation violation in Philadelphia.</p><style>
