Brutal temps leave area’s homeless unsure how to stay safe

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A man from Trinidad and Tobago was sentenced Wednesday to four to eight years in state prison after he admitted to forcing oral sex on a Wilkes-Barre teen.</p><p>Lloyd Lyndon Wood, 48, had previously pleaded guilty to a felony count of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse on a person less than 16.</p><p>Wood was charged last July after police say he forcibly performed oral sex on a 14-year-old girl in a Wilkes-Barre home.</p><p>The girl fought Wood off by kicking him and running away, and later told her father about the incident. Her father then called police.</p><p>On Wednesday, Luzerne County Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky Jr. sentenced Wood to spend between 48 and 96 months, or four to eight years, in state prison. He was given 231 days credit for time already served.</p><p>He will be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life, and he cannot have any contact with schools, school zones or any other places that children frequent.</p><p>Wood was remanded to a state prison to begin his sentence.</p><style>
