Convicted drug dealer charged with passing counterfeit cash at Ashley store

<p>HAZLETON &#8212; A Spider-Man lunch box containing more than 2.5 pounds of cocaine was seized along with a .40-caliber Glock handgun under a 3-year-old boy when troopers arrested a woman during a traffic stop Tuesday, charges say.</p><p>State police said they tracked the cocaine shipped in a package from Puerto Rico to the residence of Jessica Hernandez-Boria on East Diamond Avenue in Hazleton.</p><p>Hernandez-Boria, 39, picked up the package from her front porch and was stopped as she drove away, according to court records.</p><p>Authorities also note a handgun was found under a child&#8217;s safety seat and a loaded 25-round magazine was located on the rear floor of her vehicle.</p><p>According to a criminal complaint:</p><p>A trooper in Bucks County on Dec. 11 stopped a vehicle occupied by three people. During the traffic stop, more than 4 pounds of cocaine was discovered.</p><p>One of those arrested during the stop told state police they followed Hernandez-Boria to a Walmart in Lumberton, N.J., believing she had a large amount of cash in her vehicle. As Hernandez-Boria was inside the store, they smashed into her vehicle, unaware they stole cocaine.</p><p>Hernandez-Boria filed a report with Lumberton police about the theft, claiming a video game system was stolen.</p><p>State police in Hazleton were advised about the cocaine and information learned during the traffic stop in Bucks County.</p><p>Investigators became aware a package in a fictitious name was being mailed from Puerto Rico to Hernandez-Boria&#8217;s residence.</p><p>U.S. postal inspectors seized the package at a postal distribution center.</p><p>A search warrant was served on the package that contained a Spider-Man lunch box. Inside the lunch box was a brick of cocaine weighing nearly 4 pounds wrapped in several layers of tape and cellophane.</p><p>Investigators removed some of the cocaine for testing and repackaged the cocaine to be shipped to Hernandez-Boria&#8217;s residence.</p><p>After it was delivered Tuesday, Hernandez-Boria picked up the package and drove away. She was stopped on Broad Street as investigators noticed the package had been opened, revealing its contents.</p><p>Hernandez-Boria told investigators she paid $21,000 for 1,000 grams of cocaine and intended to make a $6,000 profit.</p><p>Hernandez-Boria was arraigned by District Judge James Haggerty in Luzerne County Central Court on charges of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity and endangering the welfare of children. She was jailed at the county lockup for lack of $100,000 bail.</p><style>
