<p>ASHLEY &#8212; A man from Ashley Street awaiting to be sentenced for a hit and run crash in Hanover Township last year was arrested Thursday on charges he was peddling illegal narcotics in the area.</p><p>Pablo Valentin, 41, was arrested after a joint investigation by Ashley police, Hanover Township police and the Luzerne County Drug Task Force.</p><p>Authorities served a search warrant at Valentin&#8217;s residence allegedly finding heroin, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, more than $1,800 cash and two handguns.</p><p>Court records say Valentin was free on his own recognizance on charges of accidents involving damage to attended vehicle and driving without a license related to a hit and run crash on Sept. 14. Valentin pleaded guilty to the hit and run charges and is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 27.</p><p>In another unrelated court case, Valentin was sentenced Nov. 4, 2016, to one-to-two years in jail and two years probation on a drug trafficking charge filed by Kingston police in August 2015.</p><p>On the recent case, Valentin was arraigned by District Judge Joseph Halesey in Hanover Township on two counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a firearm and a single count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was jailed at the county correctional facility for lack of $200,000 bail.</p><p>A detainer was also filed against Valentin on a bail violation related to the hit and run case, court records say.</p><style>

Ashley man charged with drug trafficking
