<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Two Scranton women were found shot in a car on South Main Street Tuesday evening, city police said.</p><p>The women&#8217;s names were not released, but both were 19, according to police, and had gunshot wounds to the back.</p><p>One victim was unresponsive and rushed to a local medical facility for treatment, police said, while the other female was conscious and alert when transported.</p><p>Further information about their condition was not available at press time, and there was no immediate mention in a statement on the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department Facebook page about possible suspects or motives.</p><p>The shooting took place at about 6:30 p.m., police said, and officers arrived to find the two women inside a motor vehicle.</p><p>The car, with apparent gunshot damage to a window and door on its passenger side, could be seen on the street near the PSC gas station in the 400 block of South Main as officers investigated for about two hours.</p><p>Police Chief Joseph Coffay, at least one detective and state police responded to the scene, together with ambulance crews and other officers.</p><p>Wilkes University reacted to the incident. The university sent an alert to its campus community at 6:46 p.m., warning of a report of shots fired in the area of Pizza Fellas, 395 S. Main St.</p><p>&#8220;Avoid area and use caution,&#8221; the text stated. &#8220;Police already on scene.
