<p>Five Wyoming Valley Conference wrestlers reached the semifinals of the Class 2A Northeast Regional Tournament on Friday at Williamsport High School.</p><p>The three returning state qualifiers from the conference, Tunkhannock&#8217;s Dave Evans (120 pounds), Lake-Lehman&#8217;s Bob Long (132) and Hanover Area&#8217;s D.J. Erickson (152) all won their quarterfinal bouts as did District 2 champions from Lake-Lehman Nick Zaboski (170) and T.J. Meehan (220) to reach the semifinals of the tournament and need just one win today to advance to the state tournament.</p><p>Evans won his quarterfinal bout against Midd-West&#8217;s Aidan Steininger, 8-2 and will face Warrior Run&#8217;s Noah Hunt in this Saturday&#8217;s semifinals, which begin at 9:30 a.m. Hunt beat Hanover Area&#8217;s Joey Rowley, 15-2 to reach the semis.</p><p>Long became the second semifinalist for the conference when he won by major decision 13-0 over Ian Collier from Line Mountain. In the semis, the Black Knight senior will meet Southern Columbia&#8217;s Patrick Edmondson with a berth to states on the line.</p><p>Erickson advanced to the semis by defeating Muncy&#8217;s Coleman Good, 5-1 in the only round of the evening at Williamsport. He now will see the third-place medalist from District 2, Blue Ridge&#8217;s Adam Roe in the semis. Roe upset Montoursville&#8217;s Cael Crebs in the quarters.</p><p>Zaboski had a close bout against Mifflinburg&#8217;s Jansen Houdeshell, but won 5-3 to reach the semis, where he will face Athens&#8217; David Galasso.</p><p>Meehan pulled out a 5-2 win over Benton&#8217;s Zach Poust in the quarters and will see Montoursville&#8217;s Cameron Wood in the semis.</p><p>Another district champion from the Black Knights, Lake-Lehman&#8217;s Zach Stuart, withdrew from the tournament on Friday morning, and the district didn&#8217;t have a replacement for him.</p><p>While a win in the semis guarantees a spot in the state tournament, one win in the consolations after losing in the semis also will advance a wrestler to states.</p><p>Those who lost in the quarters, will have to win twice today to qualify for states, which begins on Thursday at Hershey&#8217;s Giant Center.</p><style>
