<p>HAZLETON &#8212; Two city men were taken into custody late Saturday after officers stopped their vehicle and said they found two jars of marijuana, a fully loaded revolver in one of the suspect&#8217;s pants, and more than $20,000 in counterfeit $100 bills.</p><p>Teshawn Devante Nelson, 23, and Deivon Amir Barlow, 24, are now facing a slew of charges.</p><p>According to a press release from Hazleton Chief of Police Jerry Speziale:</p><p>Officers pulled over a black Audi at Muir Avenue and Cedar Street about 11:50 p.m. Saturday and identified Barlow as the driver and Nelson as the back seat passenger.</p><p>The car was initially stopped because it had an expired registration from November 2018 and an expired inspection from January 2018. Police also found Barlow had a suspended driver&#8217;s license.</p><p>Officers then detected a marijuana odor coming from inside the vehicle and ordered Barlow and Nelson to exit.</p><p>While being patted down, Nelson was found to have a silver North American Arms .22-caliber Magnum revolver that was fully loaded.</p><p>A subsequent search of the Audi produced a burnt marijuana joint in the ashtray along with two jars of pot.</p><p>A plastic bag containing a large amount of currency was found in the driver&#8217;s-side door. The money was later counted and collected. Authorities ended up confiscating $9,800 in cash and $20,400 in counterfeit $100 bills.</p><p>Further investigation revealed that Nelson was a felon prohibited from having a firearm.&nbsp;</p><p>An investigation is continuing into who owns the gun Nelson had in his possession.</p><p>Barlow was later released from custody. Police are filing charges against Barlow that include possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving a vehicle with a suspended license, operating a vehicle with an expired registration and having an expired inspection.</p><p>Nelson, meanwhile, was arraigned Sunday morning by District Judge Ferris Webby Sr. on counts of illegal possession of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.</p><p>Court records show Nelson was locked up at the county jail after he was unable to post bail set at $75,000 cash.</p><p>It is unclear what charges might result from the counterfeit money that police say they found.</p><style>
