Shapiro: Four fast-food chains agree to end use of no-poach clauses

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A jury found a Huntington Township man guilty of two counts stemming from an alleged sexual assault in Shickshinny last year, but they were unable to come to a conclusion on two other counts.</p><p>Denver Samuel McCourt, 23, of Old Tioga Turnpike, faced a trial this week before Luzerne County Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky.</p><p>McCourt was found guilty of one felony count of aggravated indecent assault and a misdemeanor count of indecent assault by forcible compulsion after a jury deliberated for nearly six hours.</p><p>However, Sklarosky ruled the jury was hung on two other counts, including felony counts of sexual assault and rape by forcible compulsion, the latter of which was the most serious charge.</p><p>McCourt was accused of sexually assaulting a woman he brought back to a camper after meeting her at a bar.</p><p>The incident occurred March 1, 2018, when McCourt met the woman at the Deer Oak Restaurant and Lounge. McCourt invited the woman back to his residence, taking her to a camper when she told him she needed to use the bathroom.</p><p>When the woman emerged from the bathroom, she told police McCourt forcibly started to kiss her, despite her repeated protests. McCourt then bit the woman on her neck.</p><p>She told police McCourt continued to assault her, holding her down by her neck and removing her pants and underwear.</p><p>Sklarosky set McCourt&#8217;s sentencing for July 1. He denied a motion by prosecutors to revoke McCourt&#8217;s bail, allowing him to remain free after he posted 10 percent of $50,000 bail.</p><p>However, McCourt is not permitted to leave Luzerne County without the permission of the court. Sklarosky also imposed a curfew on McCourt, requiring him to be home by 8 p.m.</p><style>
