Trial postponed in Freeland slaying

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A trial is set to start this week for a man who was arrested for alleged marijuana possession after posting an anti-cop rant on Facebook.</p><p>Adam Cottle, 32, will stand trial this week before Luzerne County Judge David W. Lupas, facing numerous counts of possession of marijuana and use of drug paraphernalia.</p><p>The Shavertown man, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, was arrested last March on charges stemming from a June 2017 traffic stop. Police say he was found in his car in a cemetery in early morning hours with marijuana and paraphernalia in his car. He was arrested after a mailed summons came back undeliverable in January 2018.</p><p>His arrest came shortly after he posted a status claiming the West Pittston Police Department was censoring him from their public page.</p><p>&#8220;If they can FAIL to properly manage a Facebook page, how can these PIGS be trusted to enforce any laws?&#8221; he wrote.</p><p>Cottle has continued to be a vocal opponent to police and the legal system in general, making frequent posts on his Facebook page about jury nullification, a concept that suggests jurors can find a defendant not guilty if they believe they are guilty of breaking an unjust law.</p><style>
