Liz Weston: How to give money advice that sticks

<p>DRUMS &#8212; State Rep. Tarah Toohil announced this week that 24 fire and EMS organizations in the 116th Legislative District have been awarded nearly $290,000 in funding through the 2018-19 Pennsylvania Fire Company and Ambulance Service Grant Program.</p><p>&#8220;We need to do all we can to support our emergency responders and I&#8217;m glad this program exists to defray some of the costs they incur while providing life-saving services to our communities,&#8221; Toohil said in a press release. &#8220;These state funds will help to ensure they have the equipment and training necessary to continue the important work of protecting lives and property.&#8221;</p><p>Toohil, R-Drums, said projects eligible for funding include construction or renovation of a fire or ambulance company facility, purchase or repair of equipment, and training or reduction of existing debt. (EMS) &#8211; $7,155</p><p>Fire and ambulance companies are reminded that in order to receive their grants and retain their eligibility for the program, paperwork must be submitted to the Office of Fire Commissioner by the end of May.</p><style>
