Interfaith rally draws respectful crowd to Public Square

<p>To the residents of Ashley,</p><p>After contemplating running for Ashley Council, I&#8217;ve decided the time is now and I am ready. I have been attending council meetings for years now, and I&#8217;m sure I can be an asset to the Borough of Ashley.</p><p>My roots are from Ashley. I lived on Ross Street with the Jablonski&#8217;s. My Uncle Si was a teacher and the Ashley High School basketball coach. I graduated in 1967 from Ashley Sugar-Notch High School. I married Frank Kastreva in 1968, and we remained in Ashley for a few years. We relocated to Dorrance in 1975 and stayed there until my husband died in 2013.</p><p>We always kept our ties to Ashley through both our families who remained Ashley residents. I moved back to Ashley when I lost my husband and live once again on Ross Street across from my homestead. I am honest, hardworking and not afraid to speak my mind.</p><p>Past generations work so hard to make this little one-square-mile town come alive. The miners, railroad workers, factory workers and many many others were so proud of their accomplishments.</p><p>We as Ashley residents need to get involved, work together to meet the needs of this great little town.
