<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Fairmount Township woman was found guilty of dozens of counts of neglect of animals after a bench trial before a Luzerne County judge this week.</p><p>Anna Frumina, 50, was found guilty by Judge Joseph F. Sklarosky Jr. of two dozen summary counts of neglect of animals.</p><p>However, Sklarosky found her not guilty on a series of more than 30 counts of cruelty, charges that suggested she illegally cropped the ears and docked the tails of her animals.</p><p>Frumina was arrested May 31 after a humane officer with the Luzerne County SPCA served a search warrant at her Crawford Road home. Reports of animal abuse were initially made to the SPCA by paramedics who were at the home for an unrelated medical incident.</p><p>Officers removed six dogs and 18 cats. Other dogs were left behind that were deemed safe.</p><p>A humane officer claimed there was an excessive amount of bones scattered around the property, bones which Frumina claimed belonged to deer and pigs she used to feed the animals.</p><p>Officers found 18 cats at the property, plus 10 Caucasian Ovcharkas, often called Central Asians, 17 French Bulldogs, three English Bulldogs, a Bull Terrier, a mix Lab, and a Yorky.</p><p>Police said several of the dogs had their ears and tails cropped, and several were kept in cages filled with urine and feces.</p><p>Frumina &#8220;is believed to have knowledge and education&#8221; in veterinary medicine from her native Russia, authorities said, and these are not the first cruelty charges she&#8217;s faced.</p><p>In 2000, she was charged with running a kennel in Northampton County where 57 dogs lived in unsanitary conditions without drinking water.</p><p>She later pleaded guilty to operating a kennel without a license and a count of animal cruelty, leading to a $100 fine.</p><p>Sklarosky scheduled Frumina&#8217;s sentencing for May 8.</p><p>Humane Officer Wayne Harvey, with the Luzerne County SPCA, told a Times Leader reporter that he&#8217;s hoping Frumina sees jail time, given her history of animal abuse cases.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s kind of her M.O.,&#8221; he said.</p><p>Harvey said the SPCA was pleased with the verdict, but wished she was found guilty on all the charges. </p><style>
