Misericordia University awards promotions to six faculty members

<p>Ryan Pollock, volunteer pickleball coordinator for the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA, was presented with the 2018 Certificate of Appreciation for his dedication to growing the sport of pickleball. P0llock has helped to grow the sport by giving lessons, organizing tournaments and motivating member of our surrounding communities to become active players.</p><p>Pickleball, the fastest growing sport in America, is enjoyable for all fitness levels, ages and abilities. Many find it similar to tennis but it is played on a smaller court with a slower ball and a paddle instead of a racket.</p><p>Pickleball has reserved court time seven days a week at the Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA. New attendees are always welcome. The YMCA provides equipment for use and offers lessons on Mondays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays at 9 a.m. with Pollock. Lessons and play is free for Wilkes-Barre Family YMCA members and $5/visit for non-members. Interested individuals should call the YMCA at 570-208-9622.</p><style>
