Students from West Side Career and Technology Center win drone contest

<p>The Luzerne County Community College business program recently received positive feedback report from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).</p><p>The business department submitted its required biannual Quality Assurance Report with data that serves as evidence that the college&#8217;s business program continues to meet the ACBSP quality standards. The LCCC program was recognized as a Best Practices institution on four of the six accreditation standards.</p><p>The four standards identified as best practices by the ACBSP for LCCC include Standard 3 - Student and Stakeholder Focus; Standard 4 - Assessment of Student Learning; Standard 5 - Faculty and Staff Focus; and Standard 6 - Organizational Performance and Curriculum. The accrediting agency also noted that meeting four standards of reaccreditation is &#8220;unprecedented quality.&#8221;</p><p>According to its website, ACBSP&#8217;s accreditation focuses on recognizing teaching excellence, determining student learning outcomes, and a continuous improvement model. Its website also notes, &#8220;ACBSP&#8217;s student-centered teaching and learning approach, which is measured and analyzed for quality, ensures that students gain the right skills from their educational investment. Institutions with programs accredited by ACBSP are committed to continuous improvement that ensures their business program will give students the skills employers want.&#8221;</p><p>Dr. Gary Mrozinski, professor and chairperson of the LCCC business department, says, &#8220;Maintaining ACBSP accreditation is a team effort and all of the members of the business department faculty deserve credit.&#8221;</p><p>The LCCC business program is accredited by the ACBSP through 2022.</p><style>
