<p>Welcome to the circle!</p><p>Today&#8217;s edition of the Times Leader includes Innovation, our annual special section spotlighting the business and economic life of Luzerne County.</p><p>This year&#8217;s theme: &#8220;Circles of Excellence.&#8221;</p><p>Radiating out from Public Square (which is, after all, a kind of circle), we look at the hubs of development, growth and renewal around the Wyoming Valley, and readers will find a diversity of topics to consider.</p><p>There is the perennial subject of downtown development, including the growth of residential properties in Center City. Then, too, we look at time-honored favorites like Circles on the Square.</p><p>From downtown to Nanticoke and the Back Mountain, we look at what the past year has brought for the region&#8217;s institutions of higher learning.</p><p>Everyone has to eat, and this year&#8217;s edition also checks in on some of our area&#8217;s developments in foodservice and fine dining, from Metz Culinary Management to Jonathan&#8217;s Restaurant and Rob Friedman&#8217;s growing hospitality empire.</p><p>Across the Susquehanna from the Square, we also take a look at the many growing business of Kingston and the West Side.
