Honor society induction held at Luzerne County Community College

<p>Hospice of the Sacred Heart celebrated National Nurses Week by hosting a luncheon and blessing of hands on May 8 for all staff registered nurses (RN) and licensed practical nurses (LPN) at the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Center for Education in Moosic. National Nurses Week began May 6 and ended May 1, the 199th birthday of the founder of modern nursing, Florence Nightingale. M</p><p>sgr. David L. Tressler, Pastor of St. Ignatius Loyola Parish in Kingston and Hospice of the Sacred Heart Deacon, Patrick Massino, blessed the hands of all nurses and guests.</p><p>The purpose of this week-long celebration was to raise awareness of the value of nursing and help educate the public about the role nurses play in meeting the healthcare needs of Americans. Hospice of the Sacred Heart celebrated the nurses of our nation, who are at the forefront of improving patient care and transforming healthcare.</p><p>The theme for this year&#8217;s Nurses Week was &#8220;Nurses: The Heartbeat of Healthcare.&#8221;</p><style>
