<p>WRIGHT TWP. &#8212; Anthony Caporuscio and the Crestwood Comets are beginning to make winning a District 2 Class 2A boys lacrosse title look easy.</p><p>Caporuscio scored eight goals, assisted on four others and matched a state record while leading Crestwood to a 20-8 romp over visiting Scranton Prep in Friday&#8217;s championship game.</p><p>The eight goals gave Caporuscio, a junior attacker, 303 for his career, tying the state record.</p><p>Caporuscio has been a big part of all three straight district titles by the Comets, who needed two overtimes to win their first, 11-10, over Wyoming Seminary two years ago.</p><p>Crestwood handled Scranton Prep, 21-8, last season and nearly duplicated that score in a game it led 12-4 at halftime.</p><p>&#8220;I try not to look at my goals all season,&#8221; said Caporuscio, who reached the record in less than three seasons despite missing time with a foot injury earlier this season. &#8220;That&#8217;s not what it&#8217;s about at all.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s about the team winning. This is what it&#8217;s about right here, a bunch of kids taking pictures after a district championship win.&#8221;</p><p>That routine was repeated because of a potent offense that Caporuscio leads.</p><p>&#8220;Goals are great, but they&#8217;re only as good as how you&#8217;re team&#8217;s doing,&#8221; he said.</p><p>Trey Zabroski added five goals and two assists.</p><p>Wyatt Malia, who had four assists, and Sean Murphy, who had one assist, each scored three times.</p><p>T.J. Kulak chipped in with a goal and two assists. Chase Passman had an assist.</p><p>&#8220;We didn&#8217;t talk about getting a &#8216;third&#8217;,&#8221; Crestwood coach Brian Zabroski said. &#8220;We talked about being strong and getting &#8216;a title&#8217;.</p><p>&#8220; &#8230; Every team has to be their own identity and has to earn their own wins for themselves. It&#8217;s nice to have some momentum of having a past district championship.&#8221;</p><p>The momentum keeps building for the Wyoming Valley Conference champion Comets, who will open the PIAA Class 2A state tournament Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Lake-Lehman against District 4-6 Class 2A Subregional champion Lewisburg.</p><style>
