<p>FORTY FORT &#8212; Ronne Kurlancheek on Wednesday said she is happy to finally be home again.</p><p>&#8220;Home&#8221; is Kurlancheek Home Furnishing&#8217;s new permanent location at 145 Welles St. in Forty Fort.</p><p>The Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand reopening of Kurlancheek Home Furnishings on June 13 at 10 a.m. at the new location.</p><p>&#8220;I am so thrilled to actually know that I will be going to the same place very day,&#8221; Kurlancheek said. &#8220;And it&#8217;s really pretty &#8212; a very nice store.&#8221;</p><p>Kurlancheek and her 12 employees are settling into the new space after having bee displaced from the store on Mundy Street when a tornado hit last June 13, destroying the building.</p><p>Kurlancheek Home Furnishings is in its 114th year of operation, she said.</p><p>Two weeks after the tornado, Kurlancheek opened a temporary space in Edwardsville Gateway Shopping Center.</p><p>The new 6,000-square-foot location will open to the public June 13 after the ribbon cutting.</p><p>&#8220;Please enjoy our celebration with us, see all the new interior design ideas, have a piece of cake, and if you are in need, get a great deal on a piece of furniture,&#8221; Kurlancheek said. &#8220;The new store will feature an industrial, creative d&#233;cor, and will feature one-of-a-kind pieces, special orders, unique chandeliers and artwork.&#8221;</p><p>Kurlancheek Home Furnishings was founded in Duryea by Jacob Kurlancheek as a mining supply store. After a traveling sales representative asked if he would display furniture on consignment, Jacob was inspired to begin the transition to furniture sales.</p><p>Three generations down the line, Ronne Kurlancheek now owns and operates Kurlancheek&#8217;s existing location in Wilkes-Barre Township and has developed a whole new thought process on how to compete with big-box furniture stores, which was to become special-order oriented.</p><p>They are a discount furniture store by trade, but they do a lot of special orders and free in-home design. They update their floor display and get new products in every two weeks.</p><p>The grand reopening event is free and open to the public.</p><style>
