Music Box Playhouse presents ‘The Wizard of Oz’

<p>The Friends of the Osterhout Free Library will hold their 43rd annual Book Sale June 14 through June 22 on the library patio at 71 South Franklin St, Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>For a sneak peak at the books and the right to make early purchases, patrons are invited to a preview night from 5 to 7:30 p.m. June 14 (admission is a $10 donation.)</p><p>The sale&#8217;s regular hours are 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 15; closed on June 16; 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. June 17 through June 20; 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 21 and 9:30 a.m. to noon June 22.</p><p>The final day, June 22 is the traditional &#8220;Bag Day&#8221; and book lovers are welcome to buy a bag for $1 or $5 or fill a box with books for $10.</p><p>June 19 is Children&#8217;s Day, with a special checkout counter in the children&#8217;s part of the tent and live entertainment and activities for the kiddos. Surprise Specials will happen throughout the week-long sale. Alerts will be posted on Facebook each morning.</p><p>CDs and DVDs will be available for sale each day, along with thousands of gently used adult and childrens books. Stop by all week, as more books are added each day.</p><p>Questions about the Friends Book Sale may be directed to 570-823-0156 or in person to the circulation desk at the Osterhout Free Library.</p><p> During the last 42 years the Friends have donated more than $500,000 to the library from funds raised at the annual Book Sale.</p><p>Members in the Friends of the Library is open to anyone in the community.
