Misericordia University students analyze statistics for Wilkes-Barre YMCA

<p>The National Federation of Music Clubs awarded its highest honor, the President&#8217;s Gold Cup award to Alex Kline.</p><p>Kline is a 2019 graduate and valedictorian of MMI Preparatory School, Freeland, and the son of Dr. Jerry and Cathy Kline, Mountaintop and brother to Owen Kline.</p><p>He performed for the federation for the past 12 years two memorized piano solos each year, and throughout high school a movement of a piano concerto in order to receive this award.</p><p>Kline will attend Lehigh University in the fall. Among his numerous awards are the Paderewski Gold Medal award from the National Guild of Piano Teachers where he performed 10 memorized piano pieces each of 10 years. He performed at Carnegie Hall, N.Y. several times through auditions with the NEPA Music Teachers Association. He also has performed throughout the area, including the Kirby Center for the Performing Arts, Lackawanna College People&#8217;s Theater, West Chester University, Penn State University, and Slippery Rock University.</p><p>Kline was a 2018 graduating member of Junior Leadership, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders, Junior Academy, MMI orchestra member, tutor at McGlynn Center, ski instructor in the winter season.</p><p>(Submitted by Andrea Bogusko, email tombo11232@aol.com)</p><style>
