Brother sentenced for killing sister

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; City police filed a child endangerment charge against a mother after prescription pills fell from her infant during a diaper change at a child care center earlier this month.</p><p>Colleen R. Gembitski, 42, of Keating Street, Wilkes-Barre Township, is charged with a single count of endangering the welfare of a child, which was filed Friday with District Judge Thomas Malloy in Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>According to the criminal complaint:</p><p>Police responded to Early Learning Center on North Main Street on June 5 when a child care worker noticed a bag fell while changing an infant&#8217;s diaper. Gembitski dropped off her son earlier that day.</p><p>The child care worker told police she changed the boy&#8217;s diaper three other times but didn&#8217;t remove the boy&#8217;s shorts.</p><p>During a fourth diaper change, the worker removed the shorts when a small bag fell out. Police said the bag contained four pills they identified as Oxycodone, the complaint says. The toddler was taken into protective custody by Children and Youth Services.</p><p>Police allege Gembitski failed to return a message from an officer. The charge was mailed to Gembitski, who will be scheduled to appear before a district judge at a later date.</p><style>
