Man allegedly involved in West Pittston standoff arraigned

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; City police charged a man they allege sexually assaulted a girl while living with her family in Hanover Township, Wilkes-Barre and Florida.</p><p>Jared Michael Fagaly, 28, of Carey Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, surrendered Monday at District Judge Thomas Malloy&#8217;s office in Wilkes-Barre on felony charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors, and misdemeanor charges of indecent assault and child endangerment.</p><p>Fagaly was released after posting $50,000 bail through a bail bondsman.</p><p>According to the criminal complaint:</p><p>Police in April said a girl reported she was sexually assaulted by Fagaly. Police suspect Fagaly assaulted the girl from 2013 to May 2016.</p><p>The girl was questioned by a forensic interviewer at the Luzerne County Child Advocacy Center.</p><p>During the forensic interview, detectives learned Fagaly&#8217;s wife, who is known to the girl, and Fagaly began dating while they were students at West Side Career and Technology Center in Pringle in 2008. They married in July 2012 and soon moved in with her mother on Lee Park Avenue, Hanover Township, where they lived from the end of 2012 through the summer of 2013.</p><p>Police allege Fagaly began &#8220;grooming&#8221; the girl, then 10 or 11, by tickling her and placing her on his lap. While they were swimming, the girl claimed Fagaly assaulted her in the pool, the complaint says.</p><p>When the family moved to a residence on Blackman Street, Wilkes-Barre, the girl was asked to babysit and protested when she found out Fagaly was going to be inside the house.</p><p>After Fagaly&#8217;s wife left with friends, Fagaly told the girl to go into a bedroom where he assaulted her, the complaint says.</p><p>Sometime in early 2014, the family moved to Osceola County, Fla., where the girl claimed she was also assaulted. Police said the allegation was forwarded to the Osceola County Sheriff&#8217;s Office.</p><p>Police said the girl encountered Fagaly at a family cookout on Hillside Avenue in Edwardsville where she claimed he grabbed her buttocks and attempted to push her into a bedroom, according to the complaint.</p><p>Fagaly was instructed by Malloy not to have any contact with the girl and not to have any unsupervised contact with minors while he is free on bail. </p><style>
