<p>The 35th annual Arts at Hayfield Summer Arts Festival is set for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, with many perennial favorites returning, from juggler Rob Smith to Native American dancer and drummer Frank LittleBear to Gina Major&#8217;s photogenic Princesses and Heroes, who are always ready to give a royal smile or strike a heroic pose.</p><p>Coordinator Janis Winter reports that the folk rock band Just Us has performed every year since the festival began in 1984, as has organic chemistry professor Dudley Snyder, who demonstrates the Korean martial art Tang Soo Do.</p><p>Noting that faculty member Rene Rosier isn&#8217;t available to play her bagpipes this year because she has moved on to teach biology at another university, Winter added she&#8217;s happy that fiddler Christine Eyer, a music educator in the Wyoming Valley West School District, has agreed to fill the role of roving musician.</p><p>&#8220;It sounds like they want me to play some different pieces, different styles at five different locations,&#8221; Eyer said earlier this week, predicting she might play some bluegrass or country numbers along with some tunes from the musical &#8220;Fiddler on the Roof&#8221; along with the Ashokan Farewell that many people remember from the PBS miniseries &#8220;The Civil War.&#8221;</p><p>Eyer also will perform onstage under a tent at 1:30 p.m., playing at the festival as she has for the past few years with the Turbotville-based bluegrass band The Less Boys. How did they get that name?</p><p>&#8220;The two main guys, Ryan (Ossont) and Bucky (Cutchall) are constant jokers. They call each other worthLESS and useLESS so they&#8217;re The Less Boys.&#8221; With a laugh, Eyer added, &#8220;Then I came and they call me priceLESS.&#8221;</p><p>New to the festival this year is a trio from the NEPA Chamber Music Society, who will perform indoors, making use of a baby grand piano in the ballroom of Hayfield House, which Winter described as &#8220;a beautiful venue for chamber music.&#8221;</p><p>If you&#8217;ve never had a tour of the elegant, one-time home of John and Bertha Conyngham, you might want to take one on Sunday, when they are scheduled for 11 a.m., 1:15 p.m. and 3 p.m.</p><p>Shoppers at the festival will be able to find everything from jewelry and quilts to crocheted items, carved bowls, wooden toys and stuffed animals, Winter said. Among the hundreds of offerings, &#8220;There will be some very jazzy barbecue sauces, jams and jellies, baked goods, sweet and savory mixes in nice containers, and soaps and lotions of many kinds.&#8221;</p><p>Returning juggler Rob Smith, of Clarks Summit, said it&#8217;s the friendly atmosphere that keeps him coming back. &#8220;The festival has a great, end-of-summer kind of feeling and there&#8217;s a wide variety of entertainment,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Pat Ward is making his balloon animals, and he&#8217;s a character himself. The Native American dancer Frank LittleBear, he&#8217;s great.&#8221;</p><p>As for his own act, Smith said, &#8220;sometimes I&#8217;ll see a group of four or six people and two of them will be interested in a craft, and the others will just be looking at each other.
