<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A new chapter of the faith began on Sunday as the new Christ the King Chapel was officially opened with a ceremony and a Mass of Dedication.</p><p>The new chapel, located on North Street in Wilkes-Barre next to the George and Giovita Maffei Family Commons, is the site of the old Memorial Presbyterian Church that closed its doors roughly 10 years ago. The church has been completely refurbished and renovated to make it a new home for King&#8217;s College&#8217;s chapel.</p><p>The festivities began around 2 p.m. with a procession from the old Christ the King chapel, with priests, choral members and King&#8217;s students walking along Franklin Street to the new church.</p><p>The group of walkers was led by Bishop Joseph Bambera, the bishop of the Dioceses of Scranton. At the front doors of the church, the procession was halted, and the Rev. John Ryan, the president of King&#8217;s College, had a few words in regards to the old chapel.</p><p>&#8220;For over a decade, these doors have been shuttered, and the church had fallen into disrepair,&#8221; Ryan said. &#8220;We have restored the church to its original grandeur, and today we open these doors with the same invitation: whoever so will, let them come.&#8221;</p><p>Those words, &#8220;whoever so will, let them come&#8221; are etched in stone above the main entrance to the church.</p><p>After Ryan was finished speaking, the keys to the new church were handed over to Bambera, who ushered in a new era and a new beginning with these words: &#8220;Enter the gates of the Lord with thanks giving, his courts with songs of praise.&#8221;</p><p>With that, the doors were officially unlocked, and churchgoers were allowed to enter the new Christ the King Chapel for the Mass of Dedication.</p><p>Also present for the Mass, in addition to the Ryan and Bambera, were the Revs. Jarrod Waugh and Andrew Fazio, and Monsignor Dale Rupert.</p><style>
