Luzerne County projects receive more than $660,000 in CFA funding

<p>DUNMORE &#8212; Richard N. Roman, P.E., has been appointed as the district executive for the northeastern region of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.</p><p>In this role, Roman is responsible for overseeing all functions of PennDOT&#8217;s Engineering District 4, which serves Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties, and includes nearly 4,000 miles of state highways and 2,100 state bridges.</p><p>&#8220;Rich is a trusted and respected leader in the department,&#8221; said PennDOT Secretary Leslie S. Richards. &#8220;He brings with him a wealth of knowledge from years of experience working for PennDOT in a wide variety of capacities.&#8221;</p><p>Roman began his career with the Department of Transportation in 1997 as a transportation construction inspector. Over the years, he progressed through various roadway programs and civil engineering positions.</p><p>Since 2014, Roman has served as the director for the Bureau of Maintenance and Operations.</p><p>Roman, a native of Hazleton, is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and a minor in environmental engineering; along with a master of public administration degree.</p><p>Roman is a licensed professional engineer in PA since 2002. </p><style>
