<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Plymouth man said Friday he wishes he could have handled a situation better when he found his teenage daughter smoking &#8220;weed&#8221; on the back porch of their home on Willow Street in January.</p><p>&#8220;You handled this very poorly,&#8221; Luzerne County Judge Michael T. Vough said to Duwayne Burley, 41, before imposing a sentence of two to four years in state prison.</p><p>Plymouth police arrested Burley while investigating a domestic disturbance at his residence on Jan. 13.</p><p>Burley told Vough he caught his daughter smoking &#8220;weed&#8221; and flipped out on her and his girlfriend.</p><p>&#8220;This happened when she was 15. I should have took a better approach at the situation,&#8221; Burley said.</p><p>Police found a woman wearing a T-shirt and underwear on the sidewalk in front of the home at about 4:30 a.m. She claimed she ran away from Burley because he assaulted and choked her.</p><p>The woman told police she was awakened by Burley because he had an argument with his daughter. She claimed Burley choked her because he got upset she didn&#8217;t take his side, court records say.</p><p>Police in court records say the teenage girl was questioned by a forensic interviewer at the Luzerne County Children&#8217;s Advocacy Center.</p><p>During the interview, the girl said she was on the back porch with a friend smoking a cigarette when Burley returned home. She said Burley flipped out on them for smoking on a porch.</p><p>Later, the girl claimed Burley punched her in the face several times and choked her causing her to black out, court records say.</p><p>Burley pleaded guilty to simple assault and endangering the welfare of children in connection to the teenage girl, and pleaded no contest to charges of strangulation and simple assault prior to being sentenced.</p><style>
