<p>The second half couldn&#8217;t have started worse for Crestwood.</p><p>It ended in celebration.</p><p>Making the long trip out to Williamsport, the Comets surrendered a kickoff return for a touchdown to open the third quarter before erasing an 11-point deficit in the fourth to earn a 15-14 victory on Friday at STA Stadium.</p><p>It was the defense that helped swing the game for the Comets (3-2) in the final frame, as Crestwood turned a pair of turnovers into a pair of scores.</p><p>It all led up to a Ryan Petrosky touchdown run in the final minutes that gave Crestwood the one-point advantage. The Comets then stopped the Millionaires (3-2) on fourth down with time running out to seal the victory.</p><p>Crestwood blanked Williamsport in the first half to take a 3-0 lead into the break. But it vanished immediately out of the locker room when Keith Freeman took the kickoff back all the way for a touchdown.</p><p>Things looked dire for the Comets as Dallas Griess connected with Braedon Mazzante on a long touchdown pass to put the Millionaires up 14-3.</p><p>At that point, Williamsport had allowed just 20 points all season, only to see the Comets score 12 in the fourth.</p><p>Crestwood came up with an interception late in the third to begin to turn momentum. But it took a touchdown on fourth down to keep the Comets alive, pulling within 14-9 after a failed two-point conversion.</p><p>The Comets then recovered a fumble to set up Petrosky&#8217;s winning score.</p><p>Crestwood will play its third straight road game next Friday at Nanticoke Area while Williamsport travels to take on Scranton.</p><p><strong>Berwick 23, Selinsgrove 7</strong></p><p>Berwick came in unbeaten. Selinsgrove&#8217;s two losses were by a combined margin of 112-0. But the Seals rarely make things easy for the Dawgs, who had to fight to earn their fifth win.</p><p>Berwick fell behind early to trail for the first time all season before closing out rival Selinsgrove on Friday at Crispin Field.</p><p>The Dawgs&#8217; impressive defense didn&#8217;t allow a point, as Selinsgrove&#8217;s score came on a pick-six deep in Berwick territory that gave the Seals a 7-6 lead in the first quarter.</p><p>But the deficit lasted only a quarter, as the Dawgs responded with a field goal to take the lead back in the second and took a 16-7 lead into halftime on a Ryan Laubach touchdown pass to Shawn Sheptock.</p><p>Aiden Mason added a fourth-quarter touchdown run to put the Seals (2-3) away and move Berwick to 5-0 at the midway point of the regular season. Teagan Wilk opened the scoring with a touchdown for the Dawgs.</p><p>In the first season under coach Carmen DeFrancesco, the Dawgs have outscored opponents 156-23. They face a big-time challenge next Friday night when they head on the road to face fellow 5-0 squad Valley View in the race for the top seed in the District 2 Class 4A standings.</p><style>
