Russia fears missing Olympics over doping data tampering

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; The mother of a teenager shot to death on Saturday afternoon described the horror she has endured in the days after the incident.</p><p>Emily Winburn, 15, died after the shooting at Wildflower Village in Exeter, mother Jane Maconeghy said during an interview Monday afternoon.</p><p>Winburn&#8217;s name has not yet been released to the media by Pennsylvania State Police or the Luzerne County Coroner&#8217;s office. An unnamed juvenile is custody in Northampton County in connection with her death, police said Monday.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s the worst feeling,&#8221; mother Jane Maconeghy said during an interview Monday afternoon. &#8220;It&#8217;s been three days and I still haven&#8217;t seen her.&#8221;</p><p>An autopsy was conducted Sunday but the results have not been released due to the ongoing investigation.</p><p>Maconeghy said that she was told by detectives that her daughter didn&#8217;t suffer, and also said that she wasn&#8217;t made aware of her daughter&#8217;s death until later Saturday night, although Winburn had been pronounced dead hours earlier.</p><p>&#8220;They made it seem like Emily was alive, like I would get to see my daughter,&#8221; Maconeghy said.</p><p>Maconeghy, described Winburn as &#8220;a beautiful girl,&#8221; a high honors student in 4th, 5th and 6th grade, but who had gone through some issues with bullying. She loved to go swimming, take road trips and had a particular affinity for the paranormal, Maconeghy said.</p><p>The family has started a Facebook fundraiser to help pay for the funeral expenses, which can be found at <a href="https://www.facebook.com/donate/671134560050221/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://www.facebook.com/donate/671134560050221/</a>. They also have set up a GoFundMe page at <a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/my-baby-girl-earned-her-wing-too-early" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://www.gofundme.com/f/my-baby-girl-earned-her-wing-too-early</a>.</p><p>Wilburn sustained a gunshot wound inside 102 Aster Court at about 3 p.m. Saturday. She was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township where she was pronounced dead, state police said.</p><p>State police said a juvenile was taken into custody and is housed at the Northampton County Juvenile Justice Center in Easton.</p><p>The state police Troop P Major Case Team and the Luzerne County District Attorney&#8217;s Office are investigating the deadly shooting.</p><p>Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Trooper Caroline Rayeski at the Wyoming barracks at 570-697-2000.</p><style>
