<p>North Branch Land Trust&#8217;s eighth annual Taste the Local Harvest takes place on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Huntsville Golf Club.</p><p>The evening is an awareness-building event for local farms&#8217; harvest, local meat producers, local breweries, local wineries, and local land conservation.</p><p>NBLT wants to recognize and celebrate the positive impact of supporting local farms and agricultural businesses, and how buying local supports our quality of life in Northeastern Pennsylvania. It is equally important to bring forward the importance of conserving agricultural land as it protects wildlife, helps reduce air and water pollution, sequesters carbon in soil and plants, holds more water in drought, suppresses fire, and provides flood control. Farmland contributes to the lifestyle we all treasure, as well as scenic views, open space, and recreation.</p><p>Dishes will be prepared by the chef at Huntsville Golf Club with the local ingredients and presented as a buffet at tasting table stations. These stations will have dishes such as apple and brandy-brined turkey, truffled deviled eggs, spiced squash medley, bacon roasted Brussels sprouts, chicken corn chowder, green salad with assorted dressings, and much more. Hot-off-the-grill marinated chicken, hamburger with smoked tomato relish, and kielbasa with braised cabbage are also tasty options to try. The desserts to round off your meal are apple crisp, assorted chocolates from a local chocolatier and a vintage ice cream truck will serve ice cream novelties.</p><p>The evening is fun and casual with music by NEPA&#8217;s own, Lex &amp; Dex, a favorite music duo; door prizes, live broadcasting of NFL Sunday Ticket and a 50/50 raffle.</p><p>Tickets are $60 per person.
