‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ coming to Duryea Oct. 18

High School Volleyball: Berwick moves to brink of first WVC girls volleyball title

<p>&#8216;Fourteen,&#8217; an independent film directed by Wilkes-Barre native Dan Sallitt, tells the story of two young woman, one who is in a state of decline &#8212; perhaps as the result of mental illness; perhaps as the result of drugs &#8212; and one who tries to help her friend, except when she backs away. The movie, starring Tallie Medel as Mara and Norma Kuhling as Jo, is showing as part of the Philadelphia Film Festival at 10 p.m. Oct. 18 and again at noon Oct. 19 at the Ritz Five Theater, 214 Walnut St., Philadelphia, 215-440-1184. Sallitt is the son of Albert and Betty Sallitt of Wilkes-Barre.</p><style>
