<p>NANTICOKE &#8212; A case of nasty weather may have deterred some, but for the Legion Riders of American Legion Post 350, the ride is more important than the rain.</p><p>A small group of loyal motorcyclists braved the elements to spread the word about their chapter at Sunday&#8217;s Meet The Riders event, starting and ending at Post 350 on Broad Street in Nanticoke.</p><p>Among the participants were the president of the Legion Riders, William Ramm and Vice President Bernie Masloski.</p><p>&#8220;We just got our charter a few months ago, and we&#8217;re trying to go legion to legion and drum up support,&#8221; said Ramm.</p><p>Although forecasts called for clear skies all week, the rain came down in droves on Sunday, forcing a bit of a change in the plans.</p><p>While Ramm and a fellow rider went out on their bikes in spite of the testy conditions, Masloski chose a warmer, more comfortable ride &#8212; in his car.</p><p>The ride made stops in Ashley, Hanover, Kingston, Larksville, Dallas and Harvey&#8217;s Lake, all just to get to know one another and foster some camaraderie and friendship between legions across Luzerne County.</p><p>&#8220;We just want to let them know that we exist,&#8221; said Ramm.</p><p>The Legion Riders got its charter back in June of this year, and this is the second attempt at hosting an event with the idea of getting its name out. The group aims to host more events as they grow in size. At the moment, there are roughly eight riders with the legion.</p><p>The legion operates as a nonprofit with all fundraiser and sales proceeds going to help veterans.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s all for the veterans,&#8221; said Ramm.</p><style>
