<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Hollenback Cemetery Association board members Tony Brooks and Bill Lewis will host a walking tour of Hollenback Cemetery, 540 N. River St. on Saturday at 11 a.m.</p><p>The tour will explore the life and times of 13 Revolutionary War veterans buried in the cemetery including their biographical backgrounds and military service.</p><p>Some went on to hold positions in county government while others owned businesses, according to the Hollenback Cemetery Association.</p><p>All 13 men served in the 24th Connecticut Volunteer Infantry, a unit based in the Wyoming Valley that still exists today, re-designated the 109th Field Artillery.</p><p>Despite being located in Pennsylvania, the unit was originally a Connecticut militia, as control over the region was then being contested by Connecticut and Pennsylvania. The First Continental Congress honored Pennsylvania&#8217;s claim to the Wyoming Valley, but Connecticut was allowed to keep the unit in the region.</p><p>Tour price is $10 and benefits the restoration of damaged and weather-worn gravesites. Children are free.
