<p>HANOVER TWP. &#8212; Spring 2020 will bring flowers and, in Hanover Township, ice cream.</p><p>In a Facebook post Monday, the Malacari family announced that it is expanding its ice cream business to Hanover Township &#8212; opening a new store in the former PNC Bank building in the Hanover Mall on the Sans Souci Parkway.</p><p>Frank Malacari, owner/operator, along with with his twin brother Joe and sister-in-law Stephanie, said the new location will feature indoor and outdoor seating and drive-thru service.</p><p>&#8220;We&#8217;re very excited to open in Hanover Township,&#8221; Malacari said. &#8220;We feel we have a lot to offer with our ice cream. We try to give good-sized for low cost.&#8221;</p><p>Malacari said with the four ice cream locations, the family business will have 75 to 80 full and part-time employees. He said Malacari Market on Mundy Street employs 40 to 50. Malacari, his father Vito, mother Cindy and family run the store.</p><p>Malacari operates ice cream stores in Plains Township, Wilkes-Barre, and at the Mohegan Sun Arena.</p><p>&#8220;We&#8217;re just happy to give something back to the community, which has been very supportive of us wherever we go,&#8221; Malacari said. &#8220;We have very loyal customers and we are grateful for them.&#8221;</p><p>Malacari also said the former market on Route 309 near Home Depot will be re-purposed to become a restaurant, but he said that won&#8217;t open until sometime in 2020.</p><p>&#8220;We also have some other surprises to come this off-season, so stay tuned,&#8221; he said.</p><style>
