F&M pulls plug on Misericordia’s hopes for first postseason football win

<p>Wilkes was never able to recover from Susquehanna&#8217;s fast start as the Colonels fell to the River Hawks 88-24 in the Centennial/MAC Bowl game Saturday afternoon in Selinsgrove.</p><p>Da&#8217;Avian Ellington led Susquehanna&#8217;s offense with 20 carries for 175 yards and six touchdowns, a single-game record for the River Hawks. Susquehanna quarterback Michael Ruisch finished 7-for-15 for 219 yards and four touchdowns,with two interceptions.</p><p>The Colonels end the season at 8-3, the most wins for the program since an 11-1 season in 2006.</p><p>Wilkes quarter back Jose Tabora finished 22-for-43 for 333 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Nate Whitaker was Tabora&#8217;s top target on the day, posting five receptions for 142 yards and two scores. Derek Nelson finished with six catches for 66 yards and one touchdown.</p><p>Susquehanna scored the first points of the game in the River Hawks&#8217; second possession with a 1-play, 25-yard drive. That play was a Ruisch-to-Kyle Good touchdown toss. Wilkes cut the lead to 7-3 in the ensuing drive; however, Susquehanna then ran off 34 unanswered points in a nine-minute stretch to take command of the game.</p><style>
