<p>DRUMS &#8212; Two collaboration beverages from Honey Hole Winery in Drums, and Space Time Mead &amp; Cider Works in Dunmore have received medals in two national wine competitions.</p><p>Honey Hole Winery&#8217;s/Space Time Mead &amp; Cider Works&#8217; &#8220;Collaboration Peach Methomel&#8221; received a gold medal in the Specialty Semi-Sweet Mead category at the 2019 National Honey Board&#8217;s Mead Crafters Competition, held in St. Louis; and a bronze medal at the American Wine Society&#8217;s (AWS) 2019 Commercial Wine Competition held in Florida.</p><p>At the AWS competition, their &#8220;Collaboration Raspberry Melomel&#8221; received a Double Gold medal.</p><p>&#8220;These medals are special since the wines were made with our friend and mentor at Honey Hole Winery,&#8221; said Space Time President and winemaker Dan Schreffler. &#8220;We developed the recipe, and sourced the same ingredients together producing wines ranking among the best of our peers.&#8221;</p><p>AWS is the largest wine consumer organization in the country with 180 chapters and more than 6,000 members.</p><p>Pete Aiello of Honey Hole Winery also weighed in on the awards.</p><p>&#8220;We are very pleased with the outcome of these two award winning meads. Many hours of thought and work went into making sure the finished product was perfect,&#8221; Aiello said. &#8220;Working with Dan gave a fresh perspective to the whole process. We could not have found a better collaborator and we are looking forward to many more meads in our collaboration series.&#8221;</p><p>Honey Hole Winery is located at 2 Honey Hole Road, Drums, while Space Time&#8217;s tasting room and winery is located at 419 South Blakely St., Dunmore.</p><style>
