KINGSTTON &#8211; Pittston Area took advantage of a slow second quarter from Wyoming Valley West to defeat the Spartans 54-45 in a girls basketball game Monday.The offenses exploded in the fourth quarter, with a combined 40 points being scored by both teams, 21 for the Spartans and 19 for Pittston Area.Kallie Booth and Lily Savoy led the Patriots with 12 points each.Toni Amato had a game-high 13 points for Wyoming Valley West.Wyoming Seminary 51, Wyoming Area 44The Wyoming Area offense struggled in the first quarter, scoring just five points in the opening frame, and failed to make up the lost ground in a loss to the Blue Knights.Wyoming Seminary was led by Ally Vezendy&#8217;s 19 points and Alex Wesneski&#8217;s 14 points.Mackenzie Nocchi scored 10 points to lead the Warriors.Dallas 65, Crestwood 38The Mountaineers cruised past Crestwood behind big games from Lauren Charlton and Bella Hill.The duo combined for 32 points for Dallas, 17 from Charlton and 15 from Hill, nearly half of the teams points.Dallas used a strong first half to jump out to big lead, outscoring the Comets 40-15.Brianna Wickiser and Jaden Weiss both had seven points each to lead Crestwood.Holy Redeemer 63, Hanover Area 31Holy Redeemer used a monstrous 25-point third quarter to pull away from the Hawks and pick up the win.Sam Yencha and Livia Moore led the Royals with 14 and 12 points.Madison Hooper and Kyleen McCance were the bright spots for Hanover area scoring 28 of the team&#8217;s 31 points. Hooper had 18 and McCance had 10.Nanticoke Area 54, Wilkes-Barre Area 37The Trojans handled Wilkes-Barre Area.Riley Baird led Nanticoke Area with 13 points, followed by 12 from Emily Hauer and 11 from Abby Cullen.Allycia Harris led Wilkes-Barre Area with a game-high 16 points.Lake-Lehman 41, Northwest 20Lake-Lehman&#8217;s defense allowed just 20 points and defeated Northwest.The Black Knights were led by Claire Dougherty and Sarah Salus, who each scored 11 points.
