Bam! Comfort food in uncomfortable times

WILKES-BARRE &mdash; An arrest warrant has been issued for the ex-boyfriend of a woman alleging he lured her to a meeting where she was ambushed and had her face slashed earlier this week.
				Malik Jermaine Macon, 27, of 130 S. Sherman St., Wilkes-Barre, is charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault and a single count of reckless endangerment.
				Police obtained the arrest warrant signed by District Judge Rick Cronauer in Wilkes-Barre.
				Macon is the second person charged after his ex-girlfriend was assaulted allegedly by Jocelynn Lee Rodriguez, 27, on Simpson Street on Monday.
				Rodriguez, of Carlisle Street, Wilkes-Barre, was arrested hours after the victim was treated at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.
				According to the criminal complaints:
				Police were notified that the victim was at the hospital for slashes to her face. She claimed Macon called her to meet as she was relocating to Georgia.
				When the victim arrived on Simpson Street, Macon got out of a Nissan and entered the victim&rsquo;s car. She drove down the street until Macon told her to pull over.
				Police said the victim reported when she stopped, Rodriguez pulled up next to her in the Nissan blocking her vehicle.
				Macon got out of the victim&rsquo;s car saying, &ldquo;Now you got to deal with that,&rdquo; as Rodriguez opened the driver&rsquo;s side door and slashed the victim several times in the face with a knife.
				An unidentified woman with Rodriguez held the passenger side door closed to prevent the victim from escaping, the complaints say.
				Macon was seen by the victim walking toward Carey Avenue as she was being assaulted.
				Police said the victim suffered slash wounds extending from her mouth to her ear and one near her eye.
				Rodriguez is facing similar charges and remains jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $100,000 bail.
