With spring soccer season on hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, there is relief in sight for those needing to get in some shots and saves.
				David Brigido, creator and coordinator of nepasoccer on Twitter and Facebook, is scheduling an online FIFA Soccer tournament for area soccer players, coaches and fans.
				&ldquo;I basically thought about the idea of having the online tournament since we&rsquo;re all at home, bored and nothing to do,&rdquo; Brigido said Tuesday.
				The online tournament is free and is accessible by a link Brigido has posted on Twitter at @nepasoccer and on his Facebook page NEPA High School Soccer.
				The tournament is open to all ages, whether your playing on a U7 recreational team, a travel team or a senior player in high school, Brigido said.
				Games are scheduled at 8 p.m. each night beginning April 14 to April 18.
				Players will need online access via Playstation Plus or Xbox Gold. Deadline to participate is 12 p.m. April 13.
				When Brigido announced the tournament on Monday, eight players signed up and is expecting more as word of mouth spreads.
				&ldquo;Anyone could sign up, there is no set number of players. As I get more players, I&rsquo;ll add them in. I could handle as many who sign up to play,&rdquo; Brigido said.
				Residing in Plains Township, Brigido is a youth soccer coach and has a heavy interest in the sport to the reason why he created @nepasoccer on Twitter and Facebook.
				&ldquo;I started the page in July 2019 because I thought soccer in our area should be covered more. I was really surprised how much interest we have and how much people like it. Soccer is a growing sport,&rdquo; he said.
