WILKES-BARRE TWP. &mdash; Will Beekman, General Manager for ASM Global at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, Wednesday said a new program &mdash; &ldquo;Healthcare Heroes Suite &mdash; is &ldquo;one small way of showing appreciation for these heroes.&rdquo;
				The &ldquo;Healthcare Heroes Suite&rdquo; will honor local healthcare professionals that are on the front lines fighting against the spread of COVID-19 in our community and around the world.
				ASM Global Live-managed Mohegan Sun Arena made the announcement on World Health Day, an initiative that will help recognize and thank local healthcare professionals at arena events beginning in the fall.
				&ldquo;Over the past five years, Mohegan Sun Arena along with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have partnered to donate over 2,300 suite level tickets to Penguins hockey games to say thank you to members of our community that have served their country and community as part of the &lsquo;Salute to Service Suite&rsquo; program,&rdquo; said Steve Poremba, Director of Marketing at Mohegan Sun Arena. &ldquo;The &lsquo;Healthcare Heroes Suite&rsquo; will provide our venue with an opportunity to show our appreciation and gratitude to another service sector of our community that put the health and well-being of others ahead of their own.&rdquo;
				Mohegan Sun Arena will begin seeking nominations online from the community beginning Sunday, May 10, the beginning of National Hospitals Week. Each recipient will receive tickets to a select upcoming event in a luxury suite at Mohegan Sun Arena beginning in October, or once it is safe to host public events at our facility. 				&ldquo;These are men and women who are way smarter and braver than I am, who are risking their lives to save the lives of others,&rdquo; Beekman said. &ldquo;While the rest of us are doing our part by staying home and hiding from a faceless enemy, these people are marching into danger and meeting that enemy head-on.&rdquo;
				Beekman said everybody at Mohegan Sun Arena loves what they do, and they work really hard.
				&ldquo;But at the end of the day, our job is to put on concerts and family shows,&rdquo; Beekman said. &ldquo;We get paid to create fun experiences, and we have a lot of fun doing it.&rdquo;
				Beekman went on to say, &ldquo;Sometimes life has a way of putting things into perspective. When we get through this &mdash; and we will get through this &mdash; these men and women deserve to once again enjoy those fun experiences that we create. And we can&rsquo;t wait to once again create them.&rdquo;
