FORTY FORT &mdash; The owners of the Hatchet Factory are doing a gift card fundraiser to help small businesses struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic.
				Denise Ogurkis and Nicole Smith said gift cards can be purchased in any nominal amount, but on their online site they have it set up in increments of $30. Ogurkis said if someone purchases a $30 gift card, 50 percent, or $15 of that would go to the business of their choice.
				&ldquo;Anyone purchasing gift cards when they check out from our online website will be asked to designate what business they would like to support,&rdquo; Ogurkis said. &ldquo;They will simply type in the name of the business and then once a week any gift cards that are sold, 50% of that sale will go to the business the buyer selected.&rdquo;
				Ogurkis said the gift cards can be purchased at &mdash; www.thehatchetfactory.com.
				&ldquo;We realize that we&rsquo;re not selling a big ticket item, however in these times every bit helps,&rdquo; Ogurkis said. &ldquo;It will help us and allow us to help other small businesses alike. Ultimately we hope whatever we are able to do makes reopening a bit less stressful financially for some businesses.&rdquo;
				She said the gift cards start at $30 and go up in increments of $30 &mdash; $60, $90, etc. She is asking people to share the information on Facebook.
				&rdquo;I&rsquo;ve spent my life helping others,&rdquo; Ogurkis said. &ldquo;Everyone is walking in uncharted territory, both personally and in business.&rdquo;
				Ogurkis said she feels strongly that people need to pull together in times of need and try to help each other as much as they can.
				&ldquo;This will not only help financially, but mentally as well,&rdquo; she said. &ldquo;I believe it puts us all in a better place. There&rsquo;s nothing more gratifying than extending that olive branch and give help where it&rsquo;s needed even when we&rsquo;re in the same boat as everyone else. It&rsquo;s good citizenship. We like to call it Random AXE of Kindness.&rdquo;
				Ogurkis said Smith said &ldquo;no act of kindness is too small.&rdquo;
