Report: Pandemic could cost local school districts up to $22 million

NESCOPECK &mdash; A Berwick man claimed he was sold &ldquo;fake&rdquo; drugs when he confronted the alleged seller who reported he was held at gunpoint inside his home during a home invasion early Wednesday morning.
				State police at Shickshinny arrested Marvin Lee Comstock, 31, of Cemetery Street, on charges of burglary, robbery, criminal conspiracy, theft, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person after investigating an incident at a Nescopeck residence on Fifth Street.
				Ernest Stonebraker and his wife, Theresa, claimed two men wearing masks and one of them armed with a handgun entered their home at about 4:30 a.m. Ernest Stonebraker identified one of the men as Comstock when he removed his mask, according to court records.
				Comstock denied he entered the home telling troopers he only spoke with Ernest Stonebraker at the door about selling him fake drugs, court records say.
				Comstock was arraigned by District Judge Alexandra Kokura Kravitz of Pittston and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 bail.
				A second suspect who accompanied Comstock to the Stonebraker residence has not been captured.
				According to the criminal complaint:
				Ernest Stonebraker and his wife reported two men wearing masks and one armed with a handgun, possibly a pellet gun, entered their residence. Two cell phones were stolen along with $230 and a bank card from Theresa Stonebraker&rsquo;s purse, the complaint says.
				During the incident, Ernest Stonebraker told troopers he identified Comstock when he removed his mask as having been cellmates at the Columbia County Prison. Ernest Stonebraker claimed Comstock asked for Mackenzie Engle and didn&rsquo;t care if he was identified when he removed the mask from his face.
				During a second interview with Ernest Stonebraker and his wife, Theresa Stonebraker told troopers she recovered their cell phones when she confronted Comstock&rsquo;s girlfriend who was walking a dog later on Wednesday. Comstock&rsquo;s girlfriend told Theresa Stonebraker that Comstock had their cell phones that they could pick up behind a church on Cemetery Street.
				State police on Wednesday arrested Comstock who agreed to speak with troopers.
				Comstock claimed he uses methamphetamine and marijuana, and had purchased what he believed were drugs from Engle on Tuesday. Comstock said he realized he was sold &ldquo;fake drugs.&rdquo;
				Later, Comstock said during a video call with Engle about getting his money back, Engle told him he got the drugs from Ernest Stonebraker and moved the camera to show Stonebraker during the video call, the complaint says.
				Comstock admitted to going to the Stonebraker residence but denied he entered the home.
