Why did you decide to go into nursing? 
				I&rsquo;ve always had a passion for nursing; it was something I knew I wanted to do since I was around 14. I&rsquo;ve always felt very empathetic toward people and have always wanted to take care of people.
				How has being a nurse shaped your life? 
				It has given me anxiety, an excessive amount of stress and sleep deprivation, but it has mad me grow in so many ways. The amount of respect, compassion, strength and understanding that has grown within me has expanded when I didn&rsquo;t think it was possible. I&rsquo;ve become more thankful and appreciative of life. You see people at their best and their absolute worst, and when they don&rsquo;t see themselves. There isn&rsquo;t always an explanation to why things may or may not happen, but we have to make the best of any situation no matter what it is pertaining to.
				What is your favorite part of the job?
				I think my favorite part of the job itself is the &ldquo;thank yous,&rdquo; the hugs and love from residents. When working long-term care, the residents become your family and you want to do your best for your family. I also love my co-workers; we have terrible nights and amazing nights, but we make a pretty awesome team and having a good working environment really changes your own attitude and approach toward people and situations. Your vibe and energy really sets the tone for everyone else.
