PLAINS TWP. &mdash; Township police have filed charges against a man who they say was involved in a string of burglaries in the East Main Street area earlier this week.
				One business that was burglarized, D&rsquo;s Diner, was preparing to reopen after being closed for nearly three months due to the coronavirus outbreak.
				Daydrian Burroughs, 22, of Trucksville, was charged Thursday with several felony counts of burglary, criminal trespass, theft and criminal mischief after police accused him and another man of breaking into D&rsquo;s Diner, Lispi&rsquo;s Lounge and Coccia Ford.
				A surveillance system at the diner recorded two men breaking into the business.
				The Times Leader&rsquo;s media partner, WOLF-TV FOX 56, showed video of the damage at D&rsquo;s Diner with a smashed entrance door and windows and debris thrown throughout the structure. An automated teller machine was damaged and currency bills taped to the wall were ripped down.
				Police say cash trays, a Pennsylvania Skills Machine and an ATM were all stolen. Surveillance footage showed two males pulling into the parking lot in a pick-up truck and another vehicle, breaking into the business and using the pick-up truck to take the machines.
				After breaking into D&rsquo;s Diner, they took another skill machine from Lispi&rsquo;s Lounge nearby.
				At Coccia Ford, individuals forced their way into the building, ransacked the breakroom and forced open a vending machine to steal coins. They also used a welding machine to gain access to money inside a soda machine.
				The individuals also allegedly took inspection stickers and a heavy duty tow chain from a PennDot vehicle. A catalytic converter was cut from a Ford F-250 on the lot.
				Kingston Township Police alerted Plains Township Police that they had located a vehicle with two males sleeping in it. Inside, police found an ATM and a catalytic converter.
				One of the individuals in the vehicle was identified by police as Burroughs. The second man was also identified, but charges against him have not yet been filed.
				Upon questioning, Burroughs told police he and the second man had broken into the businesses, rummaging through cash drawers and &ldquo;stealing whatever they can.&rdquo; He told police he drank alcohol from the bar at Lispi&rsquo;s
				Burroughs was arraigned by District Judge Joseph Spagnuolo Jr. in Plains Township and jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $250,000 bail.

Police identify suspected burglar in Plains Township break-ins
