By Kate Feldman The Rev. Jerry Falwell Jr. has come up with a solution to what he views as an objectionable mask mandate in Virginia: put Gov. Ralph Northam in his own alleged objectionable situation on it.“I was adamantly opposed to the mandate from @GovernorVA requiring citizens to wear face masks until I decided to design my own,” Falwell, the president of Liberty University, tweeted Wednesday. “If I am ordered to wear a mask, I will reluctantly comply, but only if this picture of Governor Blackface himself is on it!”He also included a photo of the makeshift masks, complete with the yearbook photo that features one person in blackface and another person in a KKK costume.Northam denied that he was either person after the medical school yearbook photo resurfaced last year. But at the same time, he confessed to wearing blackface on a different occasion.“That same year I did participate in a dance contest in San Antonio in which I darkened my face as part of a Michael Jackson costume,” he said during a news conference. “I look back now and regret that I did not understand the harmful legacy of an action like that. It is because my memory of that episode is that vivid that I truly do not believe I am in the picture in my yearbook.
