Mississippi mayor flouts calls to resign over Floyd comments

WILKES-BARRE &mdash; The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Friday reported 22 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Luzerne County and 5 more deaths.
				Those numbers bring the total cases to 2,711 and the death toll is now at 144.
				In Lackawanna County, there are now 1,528 confirmed cases and 166 deaths; in Monroe County, there are 1,315 cases and 101 deaths.
				The Department of Health confirmed that there are 693 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 70,735. All 67 counties in Pennsylvania have cases of COVID-19.
				There are 5,464 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 91 new deaths.
				There are 604 patients who have a positive serology test and either COVID-19 symptoms or a high-risk exposure, which are considered probable cases and not confirmed cases.
				There are 366,970 patients who have tested negative to date.
				Arena testing site closes
				The Wolf Administration on Friday closed the administration&rsquo;s COVID-19 testing site at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza in Wilkes-Barre Township.
				Since the site opened on April 20, 2,351 individuals were tested for COVID-19 &mdash; 66 symptomatic residents were tested at the site on Friday.
				&ldquo;We are very pleased with the success of the site and that we were able to provide necessary testing to citizens of Northeast Pennsylvania,&rdquo; said Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine. &ldquo;However, it is time we redirect these resources to other areas of our state that are in need of assistance in this pandemic. The department will continue to work with other testing sites located across the commonwealth with the goal of making testing accessible to any symptomatic resident in Pennsylvania.&rdquo;
				Out of the 2,351 symptomatic residents who were tested at the site up to Friday, more than 6.5% were positive with COVID-19.
				The site closed at 4 p.m. Friday. If individuals want to be tested after May 29, there are other private sector testing sites located in northeast Pennsylvania, including some pharmacy chains.
				Statewide statistics
				Of the patients who have tested positive to date the age breakdown is as follows:
				Nearly 1% are ages 0-4;
				Nearly 1% are ages 5-12;
				Nearly 2% are ages 13-18;
				6% are ages 19-24;
				Nearly 37% are ages 25-49;
				25% are ages 50-64; and
				28% are ages 65 or older.
				Most of the patients hospitalized are ages 65 or older, and most of the deaths have occurred in patients 65 or older.
				In nursing and personal care homes, there are 15,335 resident cases of COVID-19, and 2,565 cases among employees, for a total of 17,900 at 603 distinct facilities in 44 counties. Out of our total deaths, 3,517 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
				Approximately 5,280 of our total cases are in health care workers.

				Non-life-sustaining businesses in the red phase are ordered to be closed and schools are closed statewide through the remainder of the academic year.
				Currently, 57 counties are in the yellow phase of reopening. The first 18 counties moved to green on Friday. All remaining red counties are expected to move to yellow by June 5.
