Their view: Seniors face another threat: COVID-19 fraud

WILKES-BARRE &mdash; King&rsquo;s College paid tribute Wednesday to health care workers with a new banner, but put some serious bucks behind it.
				The college unveiled a banner reading &ldquo;Healthcare heroes educated here,&rdquo; hanging over the entrance to the Richard Abbas Alley Center for Health Sciences &mdash; the former Ramada hotel remodeled to house much of the school&rsquo;s health science programs. 
				But along with the banner came a boon for incoming nurses, starting the Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science degree program. Basically, it&rsquo;s a two-for one discount. Nurses entering the program this fall will be able to earn six credits and pay the cost of one three-credit class, $350.
				&ldquo;The coursework, which focuses on an introduction to evidence-based practices and an examination of current issues and trends in nursing, will be taught as two consecutive 90-minute classes on Wednesday evening during the fall semester,&rdquo; a media release noted. It is a hybrid program of online and in-person instruction &ldquo;designed to allow current registered nurses with an associate or diploma degree an opportunity to further their education and increase their opportunities for career advancement.&rdquo;
				The RN to BS program recently earned a five-year accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. King&rsquo;s also offers a 1-2-1 dual degrees program with Luzerne County Community College. Health science options have been growing at King&rsquo;s, which also offers a bachelor&rsquo;s in exercise science, bachelor&rsquo;s and master&rsquo;s in athletic training or in medical studies/physician assistant, and most recently a master&rsquo;s in nutrition science.
