HANOVER TOWNSHIP &mdash; After close to two decades in business on the Sans Souci Parkway, Vino Dolce announced on Tuesday that the restaurant would be closing its doors.
				&ldquo;Well, it is a bittersweet day. After almost 18 years of being in business, Vino Dolce will permanently close its physical doors,&rdquo; read a post on the Vino Dolce Facebook page, posted late Tuesday morning.
				The restaurant cited the COVID-19 pandemic as the main reason for having to close down.
				&ldquo;In March, like many other restaurant and bars, we closed our doors completely to be part of the solution in regards to COVID and the mitigation efforts rather than part of the problem. We never imagined that those few weeks would turn into months,&rdquo; the post said.
				Vino Dolce, like many other small, locally-owned restaurants, was able to reopen to the public at 50% capacity in June once Luzerne County entered the green phase of the state&rsquo;s COVID-19 mitigation and recovery plan. That capacity limit was decreased to 25% in July as coronavirus cases in Pennsylvania began to rise once again.
				&ldquo;Anyone who owns any business knows, you just cannot survive yet alone thrive on 25% of your business and for us, as a very small local family owned business, 25% meant 10-12 customers,&rdquo; the post said.
				Vino Dolce&rsquo;s sister location, Elsewhere Corner Bar and Grill located on Main Street in Hanover Township, will remain open for business, and will incorporate menu items and drinks from Vino Dolce into a new feature, &ldquo;Vino Room at Elsewhere,&rdquo; that will open sometime in the near future.
				&ldquo;We cannot thank our customers enough, especially our regular customers who have become our family,&rdquo; the restaurant said.
				&ldquo;We have enjoyed spending all these nights with you and creating memories and laughs to last a lifetime and while it may be our final &ldquo;Saluti&rdquo; at Vino, we hope to start creating new fun memories with all of you again soon in the VINO ROOM at Elsewhere!&rdquo;
